Hi, the sound card that im using to record has only got Mic in, Line In, and 1 Out Put (HeadPhones / Speakers) is there anyway that i can record more than one thing at once for expample a kit using 4 mics but get them on diffrent tracks in the software insteded of haveing to have the kit all on the same track or do i need a diffrent sound card with more inputs to do this
Any help Will be greatfull

P.S if i do need a new sound card dose anyone no of any good ones in a decent price range thanksX

ya i think you are gonna have to get a new soundcard man, unless you want to use drum samples and MIDI. I would probably suggest something like the delta 66 or something by EMU for a soundcard. with the delta you would need a mixer or some other source of preamps though. Actually i think the EMU 0404 has 4 ananlog imputs and it is only 99 bucks, may be better for your needs.

The Line In port is stereo, so you can actually get two tracks at once by using the left and right separately.

However, 2 tracks will be the max you can get simultaneously without investing in a new sound card.

You could just get an inexpensive mixer for now, set your levels and output to stereo. Not the best sound in the world but will get the job done. If you need everything recorded to seperate trax you are gonna need a new sound card.
Check musiciansfriend.com see what's in your price range and then do some searches here and you'll see plenty of opinions on each.
