Hi.
I want to record my own stuff. So far, I got a new PC for recording, firewire and a Focusrite Sapphire PRO 40.
I've done some recording before, but now I want to record drums aswell, not just program them...
I have some mics, and my questions is : What should I buy now? And can I use some of these for drum recording?
I have 1xHeil PR35, 1xShure Beta58, 1xAKG C214 + a bunch of JTS mics (including a drum mic set + 2 JTS overhead mics)..
I THINK I can use the PR35 for the snare.. I think I can use the C214 for the bass drum. I also think I can record the drums with only 4 mics if I spent a lot of time positioning the mics and get 2 good overheads?
I think what I need to purchase next is 2 good overhead mics. Do you agree?
I've been looking at Oktava 012, Shure 81 and some different AKG's.
Im I at the right track now? Any suggestions?
My style is rock and ballads... There will be drums, bass, 2-3 gitars at most of the songs and we may add some other instruments aswell. But I only focus at the drum recording now, cause that's the big hill I have to climb over first..
