What exactly is Ableton Live, and how do you use it? Sampler? Looper? Sequencer? I've heard you just drop whatever file, mp3, wav, auf, soundfont, video, onto a track and they all beatmatch automatically? Is that true? I have seen a demo version, but the learning curve appeared to be pretty steep.

Its pretty much all of those. As far as beat matching, its not quite like that. It will automatically play loops on time as long as the loop is prepared correctly (in bar or measures)

Its really easy to learn actually and a hell of a program with alot of flexibilty. I know ppl that sequence on it, play live with it, and use it as a beatmatched sampler for adding zing to DJ sets
