It worked! heh-the song sounded good-you should post the entire song up-I think many people here must have cable or dsl-but even if they don't many will d/l the file regardless. Anyways-the mix sounded real good-good singing-interesting guitar effects-drums sounded good-kind of a 70's sound on the drums-I like:)

So-this is homemade? what kind of gear you using? Oh-and welcome!

new to this thing...

hey Doulos,

just gave the tune a listen. Very impressed with the drum track. I wouldn't have guessed about the Nady drum mikes. Even after knowing, they still sound pretty damn good.

The guitar lick at :14 sounds a little goofy... The momentum builds at :26 and :57 are awesome. What did you do there to beef up???

Be The Nectar!! (as in, "sweet")

I will never, in my entire life, if I live to be 1000 years old, and I inherit Time-Warner-Chapel Studios, get something to sound this smoooooothe. (I think the fact that somebody asked you if you did it at home is a huge compliment...nobody has ever asked me that question...I wonder why?)

After downloading from a 56k modem (don't laugh), I was very pleasantly rewarded with a rich, solid, and not at all "canned" mix. My only comment would be to boost the vox in the chorus. (I'm always saying that). Here's what I hear...

"Be my strength, be my shield,
Be the one that conscience *needs Juice*??
Be there when *garble*..*muffle* *Frack a Tall??*
Be the Nectar when I FALL"

I'm kidding of course, but if I hadn't seen the title of the song, I wouldn't have known what that line was after a couple of passes.

Man, being an instrument purist, it pains me to say this, but I'm gonna' HAVE to learn how to use a keyboard one of these days...pronounced, even bass, no annoying swells that rattle the rear-view mirror off it's support...that's the life.

Thumbs Way Up!

"Metro Demo" is not bad --- but there are a number of sonic issues...

.......you've got some major funky phase problems happening - not sure if it's the way you tracked it, or just poor use of effects......

Kick drum is too prominent and distorted on top of it......

Vocal isn't placed in the mix properly....

No sense of ambience or space around any of the tracks........

Overall woolly sound to the entire track.... missing "sheen" (and that doesn't come from EQ - it comes from properly-recorded tracks!)

You'll get there, keep learning and keep at it.........!

huh????

Granted, I haven't been here long (like, 2 days) but I don't think anything you posted deserves the old "1 Star" treatment. I mean, I've been going back and listening to a lot of posts by a lot of folks, and I've heard some that definitely DID deserve it (mostly, mine)...but that's just wrong in this case...for what it's worth.

Then my friend, I'm afraid your ears need further development! ;)

Naw...I think my ears are okay...I COULD, however, use some monitors that didn't come in a box with my 'puter. How 'bout donating some to your friendly neighbors to the south

:D
