Thinking about Fader B Control but what would i use it for?

So i know i will use it for adjusting BUS volume and panning but what else. The only FX automation i have in Vegas 4 (Which i use for multitracking) Is:

Track EQ
Track Compressor
And Track Noise Gate

To be honest i have never even used any of these yet as i use sound forge for editing and never really do anything in Vegas apart from record each track!

And i dont even know why you would want to adjust The EQ half way through a track? Maybe im missing something. Can someone explain briefly what else i would use it for, if im missing something or what?

I attached a screen shot of the list of "FX Automations" And a picture of the EQ one which i persume if i get it i assign each differnt fader to "1,2,3 and 4"

Edit: I Just found alot more of automated plug ins! But i cant find a simple one where i just adjust throughout so i can fade out or lower volum when that track isnt being used?

If you don't know why you'd be using that piece of equipment, then why get it? I respect the reasons some people use control surfaces, but i'd much rather do it all with a mouse. I'm already used to it

Ummm, you're way off in your understaing of all this stuff, I'm afraid.

First off, you can automate just about anything you want to in Vegas...at least to some degree...via their FX envelope control and/or via Vegas' ability to do keyframe FX editing.

Second, that EQ screen shot is of Sonic Foundry's 4-band paragraphic EQ. The numbers 1 through 4 have nothing to do with busses or channels, those simply refer to the ID of the EQ control band.

I know they have nothing to do with busses and channels..
Yer i know im proabably way off and really dont completely understand it, do you know any good websites to find info on it, i have read through the vegas manuel and i diddnt find it that useful.
