Could somebody tell me if the MXL V67M, MXL V63, Behringer ECM 8000, and Behringer B1 need phantom power? Also, are there any decent condenser mic's out there that run on batteries and are under $150?

yes , they need phantom power....and preamps.....you can get 2 channels of preamp/phantom power with the Audio Buddy for $79......

There are phantom power units you can get that plug into the wall or use batteries and go inline with the mic cable if all you need is phantom power.

NT3

The Rode NT3 runs on a 9v battery or external phantom power.
I think mine was $159 but you may find them cheaper now.

I ordered a pair of the ECM's and think that I will have to pick up an Audiobuddy too.
Seem like a good bang for buck "audio buddy" to the ECM's.

OH NO!!! PUN POLICE!! TAKE ME AWAY!!!

Check out the Audio Technica AT813a. It runs for somewhere around $150 at 8thstreetmusic.com. It runs off of a single AA battery, or you can run phantom power to it. It is a very smooth sounding mic. I like it on quiet to mid volume vocals, and I love it for acoustic guitar.
