There´s something wrong with my bass, right?

Hi guys... I´m using a custom made bass, loaded with 2 active EMG pickups...

I´m not sure if there´s something wrong with it, but if I plug directly on my Firepod, with the volumen all the way up, it hardly peaks at -18 dbFS on Cubase
...
And if I turn both volumes up, it delivers even lower signal!

(btw, I already try putting a fresh battery, and i´m not using the high-Z on my FP)

Try a different cable. Actives can behave oddly if the jack does not seat properly, and not every 1/4" TR fits every input jack right.

Change the batteries in the bass.That might work.

You're not telling us whethre this is different than before or is this the first time with that configuration. If it's putting out instrument level maybe it needs the high z instead of a line level input.

This is the first time I check the bass...

I thought that every active pickup should deliver line level signal... Am I wrong?

(update: A friend of mine told me that´s common to have less volume if you have both pickups fully open...)

They will play into a line input but their nominal level is nowhere near that hot. (At least he ones I've had went into the D/I input) They are typically in the range that fit an instrument amp.(?)

A little? A lot? Enough to have to fix your volume when you change p/u's..? Not.
Wouldn't happen to have separate outs for each p/u would it so you could see if one's maybe out of phase?
