You know the old delta blues/chicago blues tracks where the vocal is kind of...lo fi? How would you get this sort of effect? :S thanks

Be a long~ish way from the mikes, growl, let the levels distort a bit......though if you're recording digitally, you might want to disregard that last one ! You could also try using a relatively shitty mic or even a headphone as a mic. And above all, don't be fussy. Lo~fi and fussiness are not good bedfellows.
