Hi DeanTall Hat,
How are you using your equipment? How are
you micing ? I would suspect it is in this area
first. If your micing a guitar, you certianly don't
want to mic the hole directly in front - that is
definately boom to the max. Get off axis with
the mics. Record to your source flat with no EQ.
Hang some baffles around you to cut down
on reflections. Hope it helps.
