Proof #1: Several weeks ago I finally got the old Matamp GT-100 into a local shop after having seen it make smoke after a long layoff.........after a month and a pretty reasonable bill, I got it home and only got 1-1/2 hours out of it before smoking it again. I think it's going to need a complete recap. (That hour and a half of music was sweet, though!) My wallet is already protesting.
Proof #2: Received a brand-spanking-new Randall power amp early this week. Right out of the box it is blowing one of the four power tube fuses. I'm gonna replace the fuse tonight...if it blows again I will try swiching that channel's power tubes to see if the blown fuse follows the tube. Then it will likely be to the authorized repair shop in Dallas.
I am reluctant to power up the Vox for fear that it might get smited as well.
