I've been playing drums for around three years. For a long time I had my friend's Pearl Forums at my house and instead of taking hours to tune them correctly, I tuned somewhat randomly and muted the overtones with a paper towel and some tape. Recently, I bought my own drums: a Tama Starclassic set, birch wood. I always encounter lugs that refuse to tune to the pitch I want on my snare drum. It frustrates me to the point were I just give up. I simply cannot seem to achieve the same pitch on all the lugs of the drum. I'm considering buying one of those tools that makes sure the lugs are the same tension. I've read a lot of the drum tuning bible and in the instructions the author says "Now adjust each lug so the pitch of the resonance is identical." Easier said than done, dammit.

Please give me advice on how to achieve the same pitch on all lugs on the drum.

I dont quite get you... emmm... there is no real more advice i can give if you've read the tuning bible, as EVERYTHING you need to know is in there.

The tension watchs work well, but if you can tune then there is no need for one. I have one anyway, as sometimes you just CANT TUNE! lol.

make sure to watch that opposite lugs have the same pitch. If that is acomplished, the hole process with be a lot easier!
