I'm really digging that Strat tone man! You have some amazing chops; very inspiring stuff.

Really great tune; it grooves really nicely!!

yo sloppy!

thanks for breaking the ice with your comments,
i appreciate it

glad you like it

it's kind of a weird little tune to open the album up with.....

Sounds great. Drum track is real catchy. Guitar playing is very tasty. Bass is perfect. Could use more cowbell of course.

Did you tune down to Eb?

manslick
thanks for listening, i appreciate it.

well, i tune down to Eb for everything, i've been doing that since @ 1990.
why '90?

i don't know!
LOL
anyway, i guess SRV and VH and Hendrix and a few others might have influenced a bit....
i just like the way it sounds more.
when i craft keyboard parts, i play in standard tuning, but detune the keys a half step to match the guitar.
that way, if i'm playing an E chord on the guitar, it'll be an E chord on the keys as well.

thanks for listening!

you know, this could easily have a vocal on it, like you suggest...
maybe i'll try a version of that in the future..

but this version was written with the intent of it being an 'opening' track, introducing an album's worth of material, the song that follows it is fairly heavy and super vocal oriented, so i wanted something NOT.... in front of it.

when i put an actual album together, i still think of it in an old-school way..... if you were to sit down and listen from beginning to end, how does it flow and all that.....

this song is the opening track. it was the only one that could go first.....the way it worked out

juicy, yes!
i use nothing but the finest ingredients, and don't cook past 155 degrees.

Holy Grooviness, Batman!!

No no no... you nailed the bass tone perfectly.

Yeah, glad you kept bumping this one up. A DO NOT MISS tune.

I started to listen but decided to go & play the CD instead - the audio quality matches the playing - ACE!

glad you liked this one.....
the bass was really fun to play on this one...
but i did not get the tracking compression levels right to start,
and ended up putting a limiter across the bass bus to really flatten and phatten it...
still working on dialing in bass tones and levels during tracking, i'd prefer to get em right going in.
a work in progress.
heheh

yes, the cd is always better!
:listeningmusic:
thanks again for that....

when i create the MP3's for posting to soundcloud, i burn them directly from the master using WAVELAB.
i burn them at 320KBPS, and to my ears, this sounds pretty good.

soundcloud will let you download at 320 (if you set the file up for 'download'), but i think they stream it at 256.
which still isn't bad, but not as good as 320.

That's a GREAT streaming rate. Soundclick is 192 or something similarly sad.
As said previously - terrific album.

Yeah, have to agree with above. Really liked it, but some vocals are missing!
