The Strip
oh yea, i'm gonna go.....
on the strip you will feel no pain
it's all your future to gain
all the signs, they look the same

come in, sit down, order up another round
look up, and you'll see, state-of-the-art security
i swear, i think i saw that one armed bandit
wink at me....
can't you see

Strip is where you'll lose it all,
the flickers show you who to call,
then you'll have yourself a ball

come on down, walk around,
see the clowns, make their rounds
watch all the lights, see all the sights,
witness all the fights, it's all right!

Fuck, what a groovy song, Gonzo! :D
Can't imagine why nobody's commented yet.......
Sounds absolutely tight, love the vocals and the guitar work.
Song could have been a bit longer......;)
Well done!

Joey :):):):)

Well done. Love the transition from acoustic to electric mid way through. Nice guitar tones. The vocals are rough, which fits with the song. Not sure if compressing them a little would help given the nature of the song, but it might be worth a try. Agree, it's a little short.

hey, thanks for saving my post from total obscurity!

it's cool, to get feedback from people thru this website, having a 2nd ear, or 3rd, or 4th, always helps.

especially when you think about all the different playback systems, coming from all the different people who can listen...
it's tough to know where you sit, using consumer level monitors like what i've got....

glad you dig it..
and yes, everybody wants it longer.
i'm kinda on the fence about that, cuz i've always been told 'leave em wantin' more'

LOL

but, it WOULD be cool, to break it back down to acoustic one more time, before the final bridge and chorus come in...
maybe, with some nasty electric slide on top of the acoustics reprising the opening riff one more time?
with one more short verse there?

thanks for listening

vox are rough, yes, by design...
trying to channel some of that early stones keith/mick style of bar room sing-a-long style...
i do a lot of dead-on vocal harmonies in most of my other stuff, i wanted to bring something less structured, more 'rock' in the classic sense.
but, if it sounds sloppy, then maybe i need to rethink it..

thanks for listening and commenting!!

oh yeah, this rocks! Love that bopping acoustic vibe up till about 1:18 when the electrics kick in...which also sounded killer, but, I almost think you could have kept it acoustic all the way thru...with a killer acoustic guitar solo, which I know you would really rip!:D
I agree with the masses this could be longer...it rocks good!
