I was wondering how the shure family mics hold up when micing drums. I plan on micing a 5 piece kit with 4 cymbals (not including the hi-hat). Right now I'm leaning towards the Sennheiser e602 for the kick. Also how are the Senheisser e604's?

my 57 has taken some beatings and drops and is still working fine on snare and other stuff. They feel like rather rugged mics when you hold them.

The 604s rock. You can't break them, they sound great. I think they sound better than the shures.

Shure mics are great for drums. KSM32s for overheads, beta52 on the kick and a SM57 on the snare.
