take this from where it's coming from...but your tunes are like mine, in that the drummer seems to be the best player and the most "precise"... yeah...I use the same drummer, you know that. But it kinda stands out with this listen for some reason. I think the fact that the drum kit is panned from extreme left to right and sounds great makes it stand out all that much more, and gets the "primo treatment"... and I don't think that's your intention at all. Have a couple glasses of wine and think about what I'm saying. ;-? Stepping back a couple of steps to listen as a listener, but got distracted.

... and so you know, Chris -- as I was checking out the intonation on the gits, I played with the drum levels too; for I got what you're getting at.

As I listened, I started low and then simply raised them to the level I wanted to hear them at -- and arrived back at prominent. I think on some level, I just wanted to hear a little "thunder" in them. :)

I'm trying to upload the updated file now, but Soundcloud is being persnickety. I'll keep trying until I get it to go through.

Let me know when SC has pulled its head out of its butt and I'll give it another spin.

Is SC uploading fine, but seeming to stick at the transcoding stage for ages? This happened to me last night, but it did eventually go through. I'll give this a listen when I'm back home later.

Exactly. Yet if you "save" following the upload, it puts the transcoding into a queue ... and continues processing. When that failed last night, the email was sent telling me the upload didn't take.

This morning, the site was back to normal and the file took immediately.

So a high school friend of mine posted a couple videos on FB ... and I said "That can't be too hard to do" ... so being on vacation, I fired up Windows Movie Maker and this took me about a half hour ... mostly figuring out how to make the stupid program work.
