Cool tune bro-I like your guitar tone-thats a good riff. Vocals sound good they sit just right to me. Drums sound ok-there was a high hat count that was the first thing the drums did...it sounded kind of artificial. Sounds like this would be a great live tune...Hah finger tapping! your dating yourself with that (we're the same age-same month-both born in ny too-). Good rockin tune-I'll have to catch up to some more of your tunes....

I had to do it!!! Everyone kept mentioning the 80's vibe. When I originally posted it, there was a different solo on there. After taking to heart some of the ideas the cats on here gave me it did a little remix. I expanded on the 80's theme and thought..."what just SCREAMS 80's rock guitar???" AH HA FINGERTAPs!!!!
I am a product of that era so...there you have it!!!

If you think I'll sit around as the world goes by
Your thinking like a fool cause its a case of do or die...

very nice!

wow i realy like this elvis. the mix sounds good the only thing i can here is that the bass needs to come up a bit to bring more drive to the song. you have a great voice, and as you mentioned above i to am a product of the 80s and i still love the feel of the 80s metal bands, this song definately brought back a good feeling i havnt had in a long time.what zoom product are you using? i realy love the sound of the drums. my wife just bought me a zoom 606 guitar processor pedal and i love it. me and you should colab on a song somtime now that i have some good distortion sounds im gonna start doing some metal. my biggest problem is the only thing i have for drums is either midi or the drums in my keyboard which aint the best, and i use the bass sounds outta my keyboard to.thanks for sharing this view from the past with us all. tim pate

I accept your apology. Forget about what you said in the other post. That's in the past

Lets just get onto listening to music

Tukkis

p.s.- glad to see you didn't leave

........im bangin my head witcha elvis. .......sounds great!
........nice work on the mix improvement. My only gripe would be the drum implosion at 3:19.....but you know about that.

I Can't Contain Myself Any Longer...

King: The coolest thing about this place to me is the VARIETY of input we can get/give. I give deference and respect to those that obviously have a different opinion/perspective than I do. I think it's extremely cool to see songs evolve as a result of this process. Yeah, it'd be okay to post something and have everyone gush all over it, but in the end, unless it really IS perfect, that's not helpful. I have changed every single thing I've posted, and I know the changes have been for the better. In my mind, this tune has come a LONG WAY from where it started, and I stick by my original post...TOTALLY FIXED!!!

The real reason I'm writing was to give you a couple of additional thumbs up on the chorus. I originally bitched about it bringing the song down to "average." I said some amorphous bullshit about somehow needing to "attack" the vocal more, whatever that means. But we can't all scream like Rob Halford, and what you did by adding that low vocal in the chorus and making your original vocal a background vox was, in my mind, just pure production and artistic genius. I don't know where you got that idea...I know it wasn't from me...but the next time I'm totally SUCKING UP a chorus by overreaching on a vocal, I'm gonna' try this. I learned something just by following this song...you fixed it.

Now post another one so I can give some kind of non-specific gooey critique of it.

GREAT work

I was suprised to hear a Rocker like this one !

Elvis, this has the hard feel of many a great tune over the years.

Very Cool!

I have been accused of being "stuck in the 80's" by some people and the fact is they can't play it so they bag on it.

There is alot of room in a song like this to go in several directions (Especially key of E)
My guess is you will probably pick this one up again someday and change something else.

Great tone and balance between tracks and you sang great!

Got any more like this one ??????

......not so much"stuck"..in the 80's......as it is mired in the vast black hole of 64th note guitar masterbation...........

......and the fact that i cant play it....:D

as i stated before king elvis my man...this tune does in fact rock..

Ooops

I'm not knockin on anyone with the 80's comment!!

Send me $250.00 cash and I'll see what I can do.

well i actually dont have anything more to say about this.....just that it is way too cool to fall off the front page just yet....;)

This is rockin' indeed. The main riff is worthy of any arena. I love the guitar, drum and bass sounds. The vocals sound great but I'm waiting for you to scream, at least once or twice-let it rip. I like the bg vocal placement off to the side.

Shit, still listening. I love the breakdown before the solo. Reminds me of Thin Lizzy. Solo is cool.

Things I would suggest...

Some more delay on vocals and lead guitar. A louder delay with a fair amount of feedback will give majesty where majesty is implied.

That said, I love this tune. Very clean mix. It just needs to have more depth (in my opinion).

I listened three times.

lost and found:

very judas priest influenced, but still a more modern sound......
i like the vocal treatment, it's pretty dry.... a good contrast to the room sound on the snare.... the harmonies are well done, and a good touch with the low vocals......
there are times that i wished i heard the vocals pushing a little harder for this kind of song.... if the vocals were a little more intense, it would give more weight to the whole thing... go ahead and push the envelope, the whole package begs for it........ especially on the choruses, it's a little too laid back for this style......
solo guitar- i like the break down that leads into the solo section, i like the whole idea of it up to the point where the hammer ons are done, this is a weak point..... i'd not do them unless you can really say something that hasn't been said in the music store....... in other words, you have other strengths that would be better served here...... it's probably the single element of the song that dates it to the '80s style...... you should go for a melodic statement there.... you're good enough to skirt the cliches........
it's a good version in this style........ kick it in the ass!

Alright Gonzo!!!
