Is there a way to reduce the impact of "P" in vocal recordings ?

Try getting a "popper stopper" for your mic. Or you could go ghetto and use pantyhose with a wire hanger. Might sound lame but it actually works.

i used to use a homemade screen over the mic like the last guy said, but i found that i get a better sound without it. if there are any plosives in the track, i open it up in waveform view and then i notch out the appropriate lows w/ parametric eq just on the part that pops.

I tell you what. I went with out a pop filter for a long time. I decided to spend 20 bucks and get one. BIG DIFFERENCE. I was impressed with the quailty of the recording.
