good evening,

i'm one of those wailing singer-songwriter types (acoustic guitar and 'voice') and i have the problem that i can't get it right on tape. i really need to do both things at the same time to get the feel, but that just means spillage spillage spillage. i don't really have that many options isolation/insulation wise, i tend to record in my bedroom.

I have found that just recording without trying to get it right helps me. I guess it all depends on what you're trying to achieve. And then what resources you have.

sing into an md421 and use a sdc pretty close to the guitar pointed at the 12th fret. sing really close to the 421. I have had success with this. If your guitar has a pickup, record that on a seprate track as well
