Hey, been absent for a long time, decided to clear the dust and cobwebs from my recording setup and take a stab at this old Floyd gem.....pretty rusty at everything but throwin it against the wall for any feedback....I know vocals suck for sure....

Yeah, I hear ya. I took my room apart almost 2 years ago, and still don't have it back together yet. I did pick up a guitar last weekend, and it felt like I had never touched one before. :D

Need to set my drums back up now.

Hell yeah you should....actually have a drum kit set up in my room right now , been messing with it a bit, not anywere near being able to play anything near good enough to record yet, but can play a mean polka beat at 220 bpm for 19 seconds !

Hey queeps. Wanted to check this out cuz I like the More soundtrack a lot (though this tune was never my fave). Over all it's a pretty good cover and I'm glad you put it up. Yeah I'm not a huge fan of the vocal effects. First thing I'd do if it were mine is dial em back a little. Also the drums could deal with a few more fills or something, they get a little monotonous in places... but that's pretty much all I got. Thanks for sharing!

Wow. I haven't heard this tune in ages. Guitars sound awesome, but yeah, the vocal fx are a bit overwhelming I think.

You could get away with some of that processing, but try allowing more of the dry signal to come through maybe?

A fun listen to be sure.

I'm not at all a fan of PF, so I don't know the original. I am a fan of Queepy though, and this sounds pretty cool. It's gotta be better than the original, right? :D

The vocals are kind of weird, but I've come to expect a certain amount of vocal weirdness from you, so it's okay with me. I like it. My only nit is that it seems to be a little light in the lows and a little midrange heavy. Not too bad, but a little more meat down bottom will help balance out the raging mids, which I normally like. More kick and bass please.

Yeah, this was kind of messed up :-( I'm not familiar w/the original, but this did not sound like PF? So I guess you nailed it if you were going for a different/unique version of their cover. Please note, opinions are like noses? Everyone has one and mine smells. However, I've heard other stuff from you and liked it, so there you go.

Always enjoy a good Queepy fix. No exception here.

Hmm, not familiar with the original, but I sure do like the solo guitar tone you got going; delay and verb and all.

Comes off as being kinda Floyd-ish, but with a ton load of an attitude. :D

Haven't heard the original of this one, but it sounds good to me. Vocals are great, I like the effects you've go on. More kick would be good to beef up the bottom

The vocals make it more Hawkwind - which is cool by me.
Now you're back into it I believe it's time to complete the Tunacock cycle.

Thanks fat_fleet! sorry Im late replying on this, took your advice and changed up the drums a bit and also dialed the vocal effects down a little...will be posting new version shortly...thanks for listening!

Ha, thanks Greg, yeah Floyd seems to be a band you either love or hate...I really like the early stuff that has a almost garage band type rock to it, rather then the real moody stuff....I cahnged the entire drums and bass guitar on this and will have the new version at the end of the thread...thanks for checking it out!

I like kinda messed up :>) It definitely is not the type of Floyd tune most casual Floyd fans would know...I did try to stay a little true to the original, but my unique singing and playing has probably twisted it a bit :>) Thanks for listening!

Thanks Chili, used my Strat on the whole thing...love getting aggressive on the ol whammy bar!

Thanks man...I think my new version address the kick issue...

Hey Ray, the Hawkwind vibe is way cool by me :>).......The tunacock lives!

Cool. This time I'm having to listen on phones, so it'd probably sound kinda different anyway...

I liked the guitars a lot the first time, but this is cool too. I think I like the drums a little better (more variation this time?) and the vocals are a little more intelligible. Pretty wacky panning all around - at least in phones. All kinds of FX, vocals and guitars kind of swirling around. It's cool, but a little disorienting.

In both cases I actually think you really captured the feel of the original while obviously adding some more twisted and modern sounds as well.

Thanks a lot HM! "It's cool, but a little disorienting." I like that :>) Working on a new thing I wrote now and am really trying for a raw , vibe thats entireyl diffrent then what I normally do, and way outta my comfort zone....should be interesting. Thanks for taking the time to listen and comment again!

Cool, sounds like you threw a few more fills in to the drums this time around which helps.... I like the whooshing sounds during the solo. Were those there before? Don't think I heard em the first time around...Some cool things going on in the background. I think it sounds pretty good.
