Occasionally after recording a song (drums, guitars, bass, vox, etc.) onto the MR-8, I'll try to backup the files onto the computer before mixing down and one or two of them will be corrupted. It's most often the last track we record, which is normally bass. The problem is usually fixed by deleting and re-recording the track (which is obviously a hassle). Has anyone else experienced this or know why it does it/what I can do to stop it?

And since I'm posting, what exactly does the update v1.10 include? I've read that it lets your songs go over 60 minutes, but what else?

Thanks.

mr8

are you using wav manager to download the files, while it is not compoetly nessacary just to backup tracks, it is for using them in the computer, but wav manager really helps the transfer process and may solve your problem

the updates also help your mr8 use aftermarket cf cards that are approved on the list, newest approved cards may not bounce down with old software

where is the file corrupted? On the MR8 or PC? Are you sure it's not currupted before the transfer? Are you using the stock CF? Try a card reader, maybe the CF is having errors I've had that happen w/ a 512mb cf. How does the corruption show up, because you can't transfer it, or does it sound bad?

I am using the stock flash card and I upload by plugging in to my WinXP Pro computer and simply open up the folder under My Computer labled Fostex MR8 or something like that. When I say corrupted, I mean it says "The file is corrupted, the parameters are incorrect" or something, and I'm pretty sure the files aren't corrupted before transferring, because everything works and sounds fine on the Fostex. It's most likely happening because I don't use WavManager.

Sorry, my first post wasn't very descriptive.

try it

try the wav manager and let me know if it works, im really qurious abut this one????

Ok, I'll let you know as soon as I know. It doesn't happen every single time, so it may be a week or so before I know if the WavManager fixes it.

Thanks.

Also, whenever transfering files to or from the MR8, make sure that you give it plenty of time to complete.

Don't pull the USB plug out or end the transfer program (wav manager or other) right away after the file transfer.

Give it a good amount of time AFTER it reads that it's done.
