Okay kids, I stumbled on this page. Forgive me if it's already known, but wow, there must be 20 different mic samples clips in wav format. Different singers (female and male) and acoustic guitar. At the bottom of each section, you can download the whole shebang in zip format. Just thought I would let people know if they don't already...

Also check out the video's of the sunrise magnetic acoustic guitar pickup here: http://www.fingerpick.com/pickups.htm

I am new to recording and was wondering if anyone was mixing a little magnetic pickup in with a mic? I like the sound of a magnetic, not quite acoustic, but it's smooth and takes effects well. Also sounds a little stratty or bluesy with the single coil. Any problems with doing that? Does a mic and mag pickup signal reach the mixer at the same time? I am new to recording and just odered a couple of condensor mics, but I have a sunrise and want to try blending it. I would love to hear any suggestions or input.... Thanks!

Good post. I havnt seen it before.

Even though that wont give and extremely acurate comparison it does who the difference between characteristics of the mics. It was cool to check out the AEA R-84 to give a little comparison to my Royer 122. Seems it would be a little brighter.

The problem is it could be totally dependent on mic placement also. For example, the Royer 121 might sound better a bit back from guitar than an MXL 603 same distance, but put the MXL 603 close and it could kill the Royer. Not fact, just an example.

Glad you guys liked the page. Sorry about that, I thought I put up the english link on my post. Good point Danny, I would not necessarily buy a mic based on the tests, but I think you get a good reference point.
