OK, I redid the Vocal Track today to make it louder. I have a cold so if it sounds kinda stuffy it's because of that. I can always redo it again. Looking to get opinions on the Vox Level.

Geetar volume is up a bit by request and I did some experimenting with rearranging the Track Order and I think it made a difference and each piece of this puzzle is standing out a bit more.

I EQed some Highs out on the Basic Tracks to bring the Cybal levels under control but really can't tell alot about the success of this due to using Puter Speaks. I hope to get some small monitors when Uncle Sugar decides to send me some of my hard-earned bux back my way. ;) I also cut the Bass back just a bit.

Please let me know if there is any improvement.

In some cases I push my leads far back (cause they stink or lack balls right from the start), but in this case I think it was done accidentally. GET THAT LEAD UP FRONT! Some really solid playing pushed too far to the back.

The vocals also seem to be coming in from another room. Are you compressing them at all? They seem to "jump" into the mix too much, not as "part" of the mix.

Pinky;

Thanks for the listen and comments, Bro!

The first thing I did after church today was come home and record the Vox yet again and completely remix the tune. The Vox is way up and that no good, dirty, rotten, stinkin Blues/Rock lead ought to be able to burn a hole in anyone's brain.

I uploaded the new mix just a few mins ago.

Thanks again!

I hear a George Thorogood quality to your voice here. I gotta be honest I liked when the vox were blended a little farther back in the mix, not because they are not good, but because it gave it move of a live feel. Great tune just the same. Just got back from our church's CHRISTmas pageant and I am feeling very inspired. It was a great show!!!

Mike,

Personally, I like the Vox back further too. Now I'm trying to sing this thing with a cold. :( Lord help me.

I wish that I had kept the original Vox track. Except for the ugly hum in the chorus, it was alot cleaner.

Blessings!!!

The reverb used on the lead pushes it pretty far back (kinda flattens its presence), but now that's it's slightly louder it's pass-able and I can hear it clearly enough to really appreciate it.

The vocals sound okay to me, they don't seem to be "invading" the mix.

I like the irony of the blues and the religious content, it's almost funny :D.

I don't know what caused those "breaks" in the vox on the mix before this myself. But after you first mentioned it, I downloaded the tune and noticed it myself. It could have happened in the upload because it wasn't in the main mix seq, the wave conversion, or the MP3. It had me stumped.

Glad this version was a bit more pleasing to the ears for ya!

As far as Blues and religion goes, David was probably one of the greatest Bluesmen that ever lived as well as the greatest Praise and Worship writer.

The Blues and Chritianity has been around for a long time.

I appreciate the second listen, Bro!

Probably the mp3 conversion, at 128kbps there's a lot lost in the compression, so when something much louder than the rest appears it usually forces the codec to act "funny", in this case (and in the case of one of my songs with loud voice-overs) a 'drop' in the overall level of the music.

I may sing this over again tomorrow night. This time I'm keeping the present track though. ;)

If I had thought about it. I could have just redid the chorus cut the noisy part out and spliced it in...

Oh well...

Thanks guys!
