OK guys, this might be the one. Sam gave me a few suggestions this AM and I did some editing and hopefully the last of the EQing at lunchtime. I also boosted the volume using a Peak Limiter Pluggin.

Thanks in advance. For those who have not listened yet, this is a Power Blues tune.

This cut kept me listening to the end, good tune.

It sort of sounds like the whole band was recorded through one mic. Which was a drag on the last version, but makes this one sound cool.

Band sounds solid, kicking guitar. Very blunt, ballsey delivery all around. Hi-hat was kinda in my face, but I think the same thing about half the songs on the radio so...

hey axe!!

still sounds good to me!!!!! is this recorded live???????or are you multi tracking?????? i think a little panning would go along way!!
especially with the rythm git,, is there any way you could double it?? if so, i would pan one take left and the other take right. it would really open up the middle!!! and the tune would "breathe" better. what do i know??:D give it a shot if it's possible?
keep on keepin on, axe!!!

thank's man!

peace

Rich;

Here's the deal on this tune. The Basic tracks of Guitar, Bass, and Drums were recorded months ago on my Tascam 414 MKII. Yes, they were recorded "Live." The Guitar is a Super Fat Strat through my Behringer V-AMP2 using a Deluxe Model and a Blackface 112 Speaker Simulator. It's panned at about 1:30 and can't be moved because it's on a Stereo Track now. The second guitar was a Tele doing those 7th fills. It's going through a Behringer V-AMP2 65 Blackface Twin Model. It too is on the Stereo Track in the center.

I was originally going for a more Classic sound with these tracks but that was not what I was led to do when I pulled em back out and loaded it on the puter the Sunday before last. We had played around with it the week before at rehearsal and I was using my Axis through my favorite Behringer V-AMP2 Deluxe Model on Overdrive. I liked this sound alot better for this tune. So, when I started recording, I went for that sound and found I could still use the original tracks.

The Axis is through the Behringer using that Deluxe Model and there are two tracks of it. One Panned Hard Left and One Panned Hard Right. I have started experimenting with Panning these Axis Tracks differently and I will see what I can come up with. Any suggestions that you or anyone else can give me concerning somthing to try as far as Panning these Geetars is welcome.

The Lead is the Axis through a very Overdriven Plexi Model and it's panned Left at about 9:45.

The Vox is Dead Center and yeah, that's me. Sorry bout that. LOL

Thanks for listening again and the comments, Bro! :D

Hey Pete! Haven't seen ya at the Barn lately!!!

Thanks for the listen Bro and glad ya like it.

You ain't goin to believe this, but the Mic is a Behringer XM8500 with just a touch of Verb and Gentle Compression. I picked up 3 of em for 60 bux and prefer them to the SM 58's and Beta 57's we have. ;) It actually sounds somewhere between a 57 and 58 and I like em alot.

Blessings to ya!!!

Okay... gotta weigh in on your power boggie(?) there AxeFour...

Vox a bit low? Hats/Ride/Crash high? Mmmm... trade the cymbal/vox levels, maybe? Cool.

Cool blooz toonz... nice & tight :cool:

I am at work right now so I cant listen to this, but I am looking forward to hearing it when I get home. I only heard the first mix so I will listen and get back wit cha

That EQ tweak put a lot of punch on the lows and gave it more breath and clarity in the upper mids. Tighter sound, sounds more like all one session. Good fella.... :)

Hey Bro;

Thanks for the response! I'm workin on those cymbals with some EQ on the original Basic Stereo Tracks.

Vox should be easy to boost just a bit.

Cool tune, I havent heard much Christian blues, wish there was more of it. I cant here the cymbals , but then again my deaf ears cant here anyones cymbals :( .8k max... Sounded like a good mix to me, maybe a little more drive in the guitar would work, but just a bit.
Lets hear some more, I miss the old stuff as well

Good drivin' blues.
Hi-hats are a bit loud.......the lead guitar is lost, sounds like it's in the distance......

A really good boogie blues song.

Bob;

Thanks for listeneing again, Bro! I'm working on bringing those cymbals down a bit.

Guitar seems loud enough to these old ears so, what would you suggest to bring it out a bit more without overpowering everything else?

I agree the cymbal is a bit loud or something. And I had a little trouble hearing the vocals. I really liked the song and everything else. Very comforting and yet spunky. Great job!

Good bluesy tune. I liked the little guitar part that comes in in the second verse. It just sits there hitting the backbeat. But it sounds cool.

I agree with whoever said the vocals are a bit far back. The lead guit could come up a bit in the break. The high hat was just a little bit hot. I heard a little pop at :46.

Just suggestion, but you might want to experiment with doubling the vocals. I'm not sure if it would make this a better song or not. But I'd be curious to hear.

Good job... Trip.

I agree with Chad.. switching the cymbal and vocal volumes sounds like a good idea.. I am also having problems with getting the vocal volume right.. it's especially hard when mixing your own vocals.. the tune sounds better every time I hear it though.. keep crackin'!

I agree that the rhythm section and lead guitar are very nicely recorded. I especially like the tone of the bass.

I know I'm being grumpy, and I realize that this is not the songwriting forum, but I have to ask, do you think that a Christian song has more license than others to copy other songs? Because it is a direct copy. The lyrics are completely uncreative also.
