I'm actually overwhelmed by all the comments. This flattery is doing absolutely nothing for my mixing skills, but is quite OK for the ego.
boydrj - Did you grow in in Calif. or on the east coast. I'm curious about how widespread was the airplay this song got. If you heard it in CA, then maybe it was a stronger hit (?) than I thought it was. I wonder if they archive the old Billboard charts? Of course, even if they do I'd need to remember when it was released. I'm guessing 1966.
Guernica - You want to tell us how you really feel.
Thanks for the superlatives, man, and may you live
at least until the early '60's roll around again. Oh, and thanks for the stars, too.
Kramer - thanks for listening. I'm not familiar with Moonlight in Vermont, but the 4 Freshman had some great harmony. I'll see if I can locate a copy and give it a listen.
mixmkr - appreciate the kind comments.
participant - "lounge-jazz". I love it. I think it fits this tune perfectly. I'm not sure about your reference to connecting to the title, but I don't think that can be a good thing. Hang in there. Music and time are great healers.
BTW, how about some Lionel Hampton on the Vibes? I could hear that in this song.
barometer - would you like that shaken or stirred? True to your word, you showed up and listened. Thanks. Glad you liked it. For that, may Green Bay kick ass this week (shhh, don't tell Chuck I said that).
chrisharris - <sheepishly> I must admit to having listened to your Supposed to Do and not commenting on it. I actually had nothing constructive to offer, as it sounded great to me. You have a great country voice, and I like the tune a lot. If you ever decide to cover a CSN or Eagles' song and want backing vocals, let me know. I love singing that stuff.
Now, with that out of the way, thanks for the very nice words on Dyingly Sad. And I'm quite knocked out by your take on In My Room. That's some pretty high praise. Muchas gracias.
