The job that I have in mind would be kinda cool.
Let me explain what I would like for a job ..... every time you watch a movie and someone grabs or takes a microphone to speak there is ALWAYS a slight amount of feed back before they speak (this hardly ever happens in real life) but has become a staple in the film industry.

I purpose to be that go to guy that supplies those numerous files of different types of feed back. :laughings:

Then every time I'm watching a film I can proudly boost "that's my work"! ;) ;)

Let me know when you get that goin. I'll sample you some fresh Rocky Mountain feedback for the ski flicks!

Yeah I should do that!

I'll open it up for everyone who has some really cool feedbacks to post the clips here for my library.

You never sleep do you Jimmy?

I get that a lot. 5 hrs is all I need. Old man disease I suppose. :)

I want to be the guy that keeps the podium mic hot so when politicians make off color remarks we can post the gaff on YouTube.

Speaking of such .... the last president race in which Clinton cried for everyone on camera, that was me running the sound that day. I was very tempted to put that wireless microphone up for sale on ebay for the big bucks to see if some idiot would spend the large money for it but I never did. - I should have though.

Moresound, you could totally branch out and include the sound effects for the obligatory tap, tap, is this thing on? that happens in fillums tooo.... they're probably not using the actual mic, so I suspect a lot of that is added in as well...

You could have a sound library of tap, tap noises for different mics, so that retentive people on websites like this can assess whether the mic in shot actually makes the sound you hear ...

What larks...

If you put together a feedback sound library...put me down for a CD! :D

Make sure you have some Neil Young style of guitar amp feedback too....or will that be in the second set of the feedback sound library? ;)

Thinking back to those tap taps on the microphones that are in film and TV.
Those seem to be real hot on the attenuation, must be turned way up past 11.

And even though whom ever it is the the film they are always tapping on a 58 yet the sound of the tapping to me sounds as if it's a LDC being tapped on.

I want to be the guy with a big stick that smacks the nimrod that does the tap tap-tap-thing to a perfectly good ribbon mic!

OK, not really- but I have been trying to become the quality control officer at the bunny ranch in Nevada for some years. Unfortunately, they've never called me back in spite of the resume I email them every day.-Richie
