Hey all:

I've been so wrapped up with life lately I've barely had any time to record (or sit at the computer) but I managed to whip one out in a few hours today.

As always, any comments appreciated. If you listen *very* closely you can hear a car slamming into another car outside my house in the middle of the tune.

Cheers,
Chris

the good version:

the 192 kbs version:

Great mix, recording sounds damn good. The guitar tone is perfect for this style. I love the spread on the harmony vocals. The piano sound is great and really mixes well in it's own space. The only thing I would touch would be to bring up the bottom just a tad..little more punch on the kick and just a tad bit more on bass....thats just my personal preference though.

Sounds great.

(I couldn't hear the car-crash) I was listening for it too

Real good sound-sounds are nice and up-front and direct. I thought the guitar stepped on the vocals a bit in the first verse-but the playing and tone are real nice. Voice tracks sound great-performance/delivery is excellent. What setup you use on the voice? I can't imagine the mix too much better really except for that 1st verse guitar-like i mentioned-but we could call that a preference thing. Enjoyed the song too-a very easy listen-

Didn't hear the car crash-I loooove when stuff like that happens-reminds me of one time-I used to live next to a retired astro-physics professor who had alzheimers-he would occasionally come walking into our house and one time I recorded him-the most amazing disjointed stuff you ever heard! I wound up bouncing it (4 track)-and pretty much lost it baaah-oh well(crank up the car crash!)

Thanks for the words Strat & Hogan (& to Doug for the thumb:)). The voice was tracked with my usual combo of SM57 into ART tube MP into Boss Br532. With the harmony vox I usually stand a bit further from the mike and add a little more reverb and less compression later on.

I believe the car crash is around the "northside or the southside" line, but it's more of a muffled thump than an actual "crash" sound.

Damn, woulda liked to hear that professor...:)

thanks,
Chris

I like the lead guitar, it has that small club sound.. The only thing I have to say is since the piano is driving most of the backup I would have maybe recorded it more stereo so as to surround the vocals more.. Although the guit and keys do offset each other ok..

Hell I don't know I like it though and I didn't hear a crash either! :D

I've come to really like your songs. Nice writting and delivery. The electic git was kinda hot for me but, opinions are just that........

nice piano sound and arrangment.

Peace,
Theron.
