Dedicated newb
Here's a track I recorded from my brother's band The Harvest Season. It's called Early Day Drive. It has a folky, country pop type vibe to it. I'm still very much a newb when it comes to homerecording, but I feel with this song I'm starting to understand the concepts a little bit more. Take a listen if you like.

I'll let you be the judge.

Thanks!

Is It really that bad? I'm open to suggestions and criticism. I'm sure it needs some improvement, I'm just hoping that I'm heading in the right direction

Hey

Its good man vocals good come up in the mix a bit more and the guitar riffs on the left would definately benefit from coming up in the mix a bit more.

I get a kinda feeling the drummer gets outta time in some places but that might just be me.

Matt

Not just you... the drummer does lose the beat a little bit. Not a bad mix at all.

Thanks alot guys. I'll see what i can do to make the lead guitar stand out a bit more.

nice song! I liked it a lot. Aside from the drums getting a bit out of time on occasion, there was only one thing bugging me. Are all the guitars/banjo in tune?

We really tried to stay on top of the tuning. But there are a few spots where the intonation kinda seems. . bad. There's some wierdness going on there.

Cool song Kyle... I think you're doing alright so far. On headphones the spread is a little hard to take between lead guitar/banjo. There's too much lead duelling going on... I'd just try to balance out the duels a bit.... I don't have a problem with the tones on anything you've recorded - others may differ - but I think it sounds pretty good. Could use some more bass guitar in there....Vocals are fine where they sit. Overall I think your recording is coming along nicely. :)

Thank you very much. I'll take those suggestions into consideration. I plan on going back and revisiting the mix after I give my ears a nice break from it :)
