I haven't touched my 7506's since I heard a pair of Grado SR225's. And those are the reasonably "budget friendly" ones. They have several steps up from there (around $200).

I admit - They're not the most comfortable cans in the world for long-term use (although I rarely have phones on for more than a minute or two). But the sound quality... It isn't even a fair fight. No way to compare it.

Beyerdynamic DT 770 Pro. They're the best sounding as well as the most comfortable headphones that I have ever owned.

They weren't too pricey either. You can find them for just under $200 is you look around.

How about the Grado SR-60?
I have heard wonders about it. Zucarelli (the ingeneer who invented holophonic recordings) said he only mixes with those headphones
Are they THAT good?

would never touch these for mixing or anything actually musical
but the bose quiet comfort 2s

they make wonders on an airplane and espically in my dorm room

and sadly they did cost more then my $200 truck!:p

I still like my DT100s... not great for mixing with really, but they're good, sealed headphones that minimise leak... exactly what I use them for.
