I just bought a custom, and i can't even hold it, it's extremely heavy.

I've seen everyone jumping around with the standard. But i never tought this was going to be that surprising.

If the standard is lighter, i'm going to shoot my self.

Guitars vary greatly, even the exact same models. I have seen Les Pauls weighing as little as 7.5 pounds and as much as 13 pounds. It all depends on the quality of the wood. Epi LPs always weigh more because they are a lesser quality of wood than Gibson LPs are made with. Though there are some real boat anchor Gibsons, too. Ive owned a couple myself.

When you buy in person, you can always choose based on weight, but when buying by catalog or online, you always run the risk of getting a brick.

So, basically... all the people i've seen jumping with standards, they all have Gibsons ?

My custom weight around 5,6Kg, that's insane.

Does anyone have an Epiphone LP Standard ?, how much it weights ? :D

Hard2Hear is correct, the weights are going to vary somewhat. I have 2 '90's Gibson Les Paul Studios that weigh about the same and 1 '76 Gibson Les Paul Deluxe (converted to a Standard) that weighs a lot more than the Studios. But then, the Norlin Les Pauls were notorious for being heavy as hell. Not that the Studios are super-light...I mean, my rear strap button screw on my '94 Studio is bent from jumping around with that guitar, so it's not light in any regard, but it's lighter than the '76.

I've had one Epi Les Paul Standard that I got for $100.00, and it was pretty light in comparison to the Studio, but I ended up trading it in because it didn't really sound that good (to me).

I guess I'd rather buy a guitar based on whether it sounds good and plays well as opposed to whether it was more comfortable for jumping around. I mean, you can jump around with any guitar if you really want to...it's just that jumping around with one may be a little more of a work-out than jumping around with another. ;)
