Hi all. Working on a slightly 'New Order'-ish take on The Cure's 'Disintegration'. Here's a sample:

Would be interested in your feedback so far, still have to add more guitars and vocals...not sure how that'll pan out! :D

Thanks

Paul

Man that reverb on the snare is taking me back to the 80s. This whole song is, really. But hey, its the Cure!

First impressions...listening...it sounds great sonically. The kick sounds loud, but keep in mind I am at work on a really shitty speaker system with one speaker and a subwoofer.

Oh it just ended. WTF?

It definitely has that 80's sound to it. Sounds great so far.

Thanks for the feedback. Yeah, it's only a one minute sample - the actual thing is about 8 minutes long, and I have yet to work out some of the future embellishments - probably a second rhythm guitar and maybe something with an e-bow. And then those dreaded vocals!

Just a note on the drums - I was trying to nail that snare verb from the 80's but I'm not sure how it's going. Aside from a conventional drum loop, there's a d n' b loop with a low-pass filter and a few other percussive grooves courtesy of Kore.

Great bit of production there, you really have captured that 80's vibe. John Leckie would be proud of something like this. I liked your take on "That's Entertainment" too.
