Hi friends, I got a little OT question to ask to you guys ...
I have the opportunity to build a studio here in Brazil in a Tropical Paradise Resort called the Big Island ...
Opening it's door you'd be at just 50 foot from ultra-light-green- -warm-ocean water and beside it you could stay at the hotel
( Bangalo's decorated with native stuff )...
The gear would be a Protools HD2, Control 24, Avalon VT 737 sp, Millennia STT1, HV3D, Oram Octasonic, U87, AKG 414, C12VR, etc.
My question is: in your opinion, is this a big deal? The fact of the studio will be located in a Tropical Paradise Resort would be a good approach to international artists?

Thanks for your attention people, sorry for the OT.
See ya, Kelpo from Brazil.

Kelpo, please don't put the same message on every forum. One is enough.... :)

Are you paying for the studio? if not, who cares! go ahead!! ;)

Sorry for the duplicated messages, I didn´t know ...

About the studio ... unffortunately, I'm paying for it ...

cool, I guess some of us are still recovering from the phobia of somebody posting the same message on every forum last week... :)

I think it's cool to have a studio in s Tropical resort... I am living in a tropical country myself... :)

from the looks of it, you seemed to be quite experienced in this business... do you hv a list of respectable clients? how do u plan to attract international artists?

I guess one advantage you would have is that it would be cheaper to record and stay in Brazil than to do it in US.... besides Brazil is not that far away.... :)

Good luck!

Thanks leeking. I'm not too experienced ... I've worked with some great producers here in Brazil, but I ain´t got no international experiences.
I plan to attract my clients via a great Marketing project that a friend of mine, which works in a Major Record company, is developing. It includes the internet, mail contacts, fone contacts, etc.
The price would be the most attractive issue, besides the gear.
I think it would be around U$ 80,00 to U$ 100,00/hour for the studio and U$40,00 to U$60,00 /day for the hotel.
By the way, in which country do you live?
See ya, Kelpo.

I am living in an island in Malaysia.... beautiful place...

Pro studios here charge around 40-60USD per hour... In fact, with the low currency rate, I think it would be dirt cheap for international artist to do their projects here... :)

Leeking, have you been on the beach where Leonardo Di Caprio made this film " The Beach"?

Let me see.....tropical paradise resort.....Big Island.....warm ocean water...beautiful Brazillian girls.....great gear.....hmmmmmmm.
If you need an assistant, I work really cheap!
