So what is the best Studio Projects B1 Large Diaphragm microphone on the market today? Im looking for something under $100....

Thanks,
Todd

They're good as long as you don't get the Chinese knock-off counterfeit ones.

I like the dual rectified, omni-cardioid, with a hi-pass AND the bass roll off switch. These also are available in baby blue and mint green.

Anything rectified is good.

 I think that the Studio Projects B1 Large Diaphragm microphone is the best Studio Projects B1 Large Diaphragm microphone on the market today. I've never tried one, but that's what all the people would say... :p

Thank you guys so much for all the great responses!! Im gonna go out and try all the Studio Projects B1 Large Diaphragm microphones I can find now....I'll let you know how it goes..

:D :D

The funniest thing happened to me at the store while I was trying out all the different Studio Projects B1 Large Diaphragm microphones (you know...just trying to decide which one sounds best with my voice)..well anyway..the store clerk came over and said, "You are a fucker."
I was taken aback...since I was just trying to listen to the subtle frequency differences and directional nuances of all the Studio Projects B1 Large Diaphragm microphones. So anyway, I look him right in the eye and say,"You sir are not very nice!"
And bam....he turned into a Llama. It was pretty strange. I think he tried to tell me I was a fucker again, but it kinda just sounded like this,"Bleeehahahhgh".
So anyway...the Llama ran away after that and I finally decided on which microphone i should buy. Thanks again for all the help guys. You're my pals!!

I got the Studio Projects B1 Large Diaphragm microphone!!!
I love it!!

If you turned the sales rep into a llama, what the hell did you do to Falken????

There's a rumor going around about chinese knockoffs, just something I heard

yes, i had the similar thing happen to me at guitar center, several of the sales people were making that sound?? strange.

They were telling me to buy several SP B1's if i really wanted to have the entire range of tones from the SP B1's. kinda like the entire SP B1 collection.

they even had some B-stock B1's that had been returned from some dude that was curing of herpes.

i think there were about 25 sales monkeys in GC that day, i'm not sure but i think they were all on crack....or maybe just acted that way to be "cool".
you never know. they were flying all over the store ...like in too big a hurry to wait on customers, like something BIGGER was going on?? very strange.

anyway, i just bought the Herpes' B-stock SP B1's, because I wasn't sure.

sounded different than my other 3 SP B1's, I don't know what month they were made or if it was pre or post the Asian Bird Flu epedemic....but they sounded different..could have just been the B-stock had spittle on it.
they say once its dried its safe right? herpes on the mic screen?
or do you need clorine wipe down?? but i don't want to ruin the finish??

i saved like $4.95!! so i'm pumped!! :D :)

The best SP B1 ...

... is probably the Behringer version.

How does that work  by the look of that photo you either get a hi pass OR -10db cut but not both?!

Boy those B-1's really ARE the best mic around huh! :D

I tried that one!! I don't know...something about the 2k-5k range sounded like it was reverse engineered using cheaper parts, shortcuts and bad quality control ...

Maybe that's just me though....
