Hey, I have this hum and I want to take care of it. I have my amp going into the a lexicon alpha ASIO interface by a RCA to XLR Cable coming from the back of my Line 6 Spider Jam Amp. I'm getting this annoying buzz that I can't seem to stop.

I tested all kinds of things and it comes down to the cable between the amp and the ASIO interface.

Here is a quick recording. When I'm not playing, you can really hear the buzz. You can still here it when I'm playing but the guitar quiets it.

I was told to look into the art cleanbox 2. I want to go from RCA to XLR (or 1/4). This is what I'm looking at.

However, this says it's a hum eliminator and is cheaper:

Will the 2 way stereo converter clean up the buzz? Are there any other products that will eliminate it, RCA to XLR or 1/4?

I know there are alot of 1/4 DI boxes with a ground lift switch but I'd like to use the RCA jack(s) in the back. If worse comes to worse I'll just get a RCA to 1/4 adapter.

Thanks in advance.

I carry an ART DTI, an EbTech HE-2 and the wall unit (which I still haven't had to use), and an inexpensive Behri Hum eliminator (haven't had the time/opportunity to use it yet) for every live gig. The keyboardist often needs to use it to reduce/eliminate hum to the mixer, and these units can be absolute life-savers when you need to feed a house or auxilliary sound system. Most of the time, they work so well it seems miraculous. The EbTech has a completely transparent quality to it. The ART DTI has a lot of connectivity but it actually boosts the signal a little (and, as far as I know, it is not a converter---i.e., XLR to RCA, etc.).

I'd start with the ART unit that has exactly the connections and conversions you were looking for.

Paj,
