if you can find one. :D

Well, I just got off the phone with a Guitar Center in North Carolina, apparently the only one in the country listing the Rode NTV mic in stock.

They don't have any.

If you can find one somewhere at a GC...

They're advertised in their "Inventory Overload" flyer for the price of $199. Why do they advertise it if they don't have any???

So close yet so far away...

(I even called Sam Ash to price match. They laughed at me. :p ) I guess I can try 8th Street, but I think they'll laugh at me too.

Bastards. :(

:D ;) :p

It's called Bait & Switch and its illegal as hell. They have to give it to you at that price as soon as they have them in stock.

You got that right. If that's the mic you want, hold their feet to the fire.

Well, yeah, but I think Rode is discontinuing the model, or at least GC isn't carrying it anymore. The ad has the "subject to prior sale, call ahead," etc. disclaimer.

The fact is, though, that apparently there is NOT ONE of these mics in stock at a GC in the entire country.

I was thinking of using the ad along with American Express's Best Value Guarantee to buy one somewhere else and get the difference from Amex.

Not sure though. :(

For $200, it's a great deal. For $500, not so much, so if Amex won't match the price for some reason, I'd be screwed.

Oh well. I'll debate it. :)
