I'm on an old pro tools setup that I'm looking to upgrade. When I do, I'd like to find some way to get that hands on feel of faders and knobs (mixing with a track ball is making me rip my hair out). Just wondering if anyone had opinions on good controllers or if anyone's found another nice solution (ie a digital or analog mixer through the patch bay, or something) Just looking for a solution that is 1) the best price and 2) something easy to set up. Any opinions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

are you looking to stick with pro tools? you can look at the Command 8 which is pretty nice. Control 24 is even cooler if you have the money. Mackie makes the HUI which I've used with Logic...but not extensively. So can't say I liked it or not. But seemed a lot like the Command 8. But I like Mackie stuff in general too. The Tascam US428 is nice, but doesn't have a ton of controls on it. They also make the FW1884, but I haven't tried it.

thanks for the replies. Guess I'll have to shop a few of them. ( I agree, Benny. I'm also a fan of Mackie, but I can rarely afford it.) Thanks again!
