I am new to multitracking so about 2 weeks ago I started reading this list. I went to my local Sam Ash and picked up a Delta 44. While I was there I picked up an ART Tube preamp.
After returning home I plugged it all together and had the vocalist sing a bit thru the ART. To me it sounded muddy.
So I decided to read this list again for ART preamps. By the time I finished I called and ordered an Audio Buddy and send the ART back.
What a hugh difference. I have to admit the Buddy is not much to look at but the sound is night and day difference. I brought the band in for a session and the guitar and vocals were stellar.
So I want to write this for anyone looking for a preamp, the Audio Buddy is a great deal for only $69.
Thanks to all for the great info.

P.S. How does ART stay in business selling those things. They are pretty though.
