I just bought a new Fender Strat, and have a question about Texas specials pups. How can you tell the difference between Texas Specials and regular Fender single coils pups? Are there any noticable cosmetic differences?

Thanks,
Trotter

there aren't any noticable differances cosmetically....they look like any other fender pickup (the plastic covers only expose the poles). texas specials are overwound to give more output...to my ears they sound very good ....meaty and alot of detail. I have a set on my '66 strat and im happy with them. I bought a mexican strat and i think im gonna put the texas specials on it and get a set of custom '69 pickups to put on my vintage strat.

They are great pickups, I've had a set in one of my strats since they first came out in '94. Just a little hotter than standard fender single coils and plenty of tone. Excelent choice.

My guitar is a CIJ Fender Strat 57RI. I have owned several strats in my life, but I have to say this is my favorite axe. It sounds and plays great. Awesome!!!
