Hi!

At a concert recently I did a concurrent recording on
JVC M210 stereo mic into a Tascam reel to reel
Zoom H2
Takstar PCM6100 feeding straight into computer

If you search YouTube for
"Comparison of analogue vs digital and JVC, Zoom and Takstar mics" you'll be able to hear the results.

Which gives the best sound?

I'm hoping to upgrade before long from the Tascam 4 track to Revox 2 track which will reduce the hiss . . . with luck!

If anyone likes a good classical concert search YouTube for
"reel to reel concert recording archive - Bach, Beethoven and the Boys - YouTube"
which was the whole event recorded on the analogue.

Best wishes

Assuming competent condenser microphones, where you place the mics will affect the sound quality far more than what model mics you use.

I've had good luck with MXL 603s on piano, but the room has a lot to do with it for sure.

I have a pair of these, & I'm very pleased with my acc gtr using them, how are they on the low end on piano?

Zoom H2 sounds pretty great for what it is, pretty friendly when it comes to placement to.
