About same quality as SB Audigy. Better drivers though supports ASIO properly. I used to have Terratec card, honestly their AD converters aren't that great. I didn't realise this until I switched to Aardvark Q10. All of a sudden it sounded like a vail was taken off the audio. Other than that, it's a pretty good starter, never had any compatibility or timing issues.

I'd say decidedly not......

It's a very good recording card and designed for that purpose.

I've had the SBLive, Audigy and Audigy 2 and non of them came close the to the Terratec 6 fire when it came to recording transparency. Do your homework a little bit and you'll find it uses the same converters as the M Audio 2496 which is recognized widely as a very good DAW recording card. I own it, I like it, no problems, very versatile and great sounding card.
