Hello all,

I'm wondering if you can give me some advice? I have a 6 month old computer, with a terratec DMX6Fire soundcard. I would like to be able to record more than one track similtainiously in cubase. At the moment cubase hasn't recognised all the inputs from my sound card, and so whatever port I put the signal in, it all comes onto the same track. I would eventually like to use the computer to record onto; i.e. take the signals from the output side of a mixer into the computer to record. I have been told that my sound card may have what is called a AC97 chip in it, which funnels all input signals into 2 streams, Left and Right. I'm not sure if it does, but I may have to buy a new sound card. If so, do you know any fairly cheap ones (under £200), that would be capable of 8 track inputs.

My other idea is that it is all cubase's fault, as It doesn't like the ASIO2 driver that the sound card is using. Any Ideas?

Best Wishes,

dan
