Up where you can change the tempo--you can also change the notes from, Whole note, 1/2, 1/4, 1/8, 1/16 and then a "dotted" option. The click track goes slower when its set lower than 1/4--and anything above 1/4, it clicks faster. I think 1/4 is the default selection but if anyone can tell me what these note changes are doing/ or their purpose that'd be great, thanks

1/2 = Half Note
1/4 = Quater Note
1/8 = Eight Note
1/16 = Sixteenth note

If you want to hear 4 clicks per beat (Default) the use 1/4, If you want to use 2 clicks per beat use 1/2........ so on and so forth. The dot after the note means that note plus one half. For Example "1/4." = "1/4 + 1/8"

Some musical theory would help you. As would giving more details of what particular machine or software you're talking about...

You got that backwards. If you want to hear 2 clicks per beat, you select 1/8 notes. Selecting 1/2 will only give you 2 clicks per BAR, not per beat.

I apologize for the giving the wrong answer. Thanks for correcting that for me. Its been a little while since I brushed up on music theory.

ok so would 1/4 give you 4 clicks per BAR?

Yes, exactly. 1/4 iis telling you that the click is playing quarter notes, of which there are 4 per bar in 4/4. 1/8 would be playing 8th notes, so the clicks would come in twice as fast since they're playing 8 per bar in 4/4.
