ok..so I've been writing a lot of original stuff lately, and in an attempt to record it, learnt to write MIDI drum tracks for my songs
I write the drum tracks on Gitar Pro 5 and then export it as a midi file..which I then play using EZdrummer in FlStudio.
Lot of my songs have tempo changes in the middle..so it would start at say ,160bpm and then change to 120bpm for a couple of bars and then maybe to 200bpm. Thats the idea.
The problem is when I open these midi files with EZDrummer, it doesn't seem to account for the tempo changes..so if the tempo on FLStudio is 120bpm, the whole song would play on the same tempo, and hence not consider the change in tempos that were in the original MIDI file!
Any solutions!?
Please HELP! I'm not able to think of another solution!
Thankyou! :)

You would control tempo within FLStudio. A midi file is just data, controlled by the tempo set by the DAW. I have no idea how to do that in FL, but that is what you need to do. EZD will follow what FL tells it to do.

Exactly what Jimmi said. You can automate the tempo in FL by right-clicking on tempo and choosing "Create automation clip". This creates an automation block in Playlist which you can edit over there.

There may be other options. I have no experience with FL, but Logic and Reaper will import midi files and their embedded tempo map. You have the choice as to whether you use this map or use the tempo setting of the track you are importing in to. Maybe FL provides this option somewhere?

No, FL just overrides the tempo unless you import the midi file in this way: File->Import->Midi file...
This creates a new project and imports the tempo data also. You can edit tempo data via right clicking the tempo->Edit events. (Pain in the ass... why couldn't it just create a normal automation clip instead?)

Gecko Zedd, yeah thats kinda what I was looking for..I read in another post where somebody had the same issue..he was using Cubase and there were two options for tempo - track and fixed. I was hoping there would be something like that in FLStudio as well.

Seidy, I did import the midi file in the way you said, but tempo still gets overridden..any other suggestions?
Anyways I'll try creating an Automation clip!
