I've decided to move all my instruments and recording stuff into a small, but useable "studio" in my backyard in Dallas, Texas. This would be electric/acoustic guitar, Birch unlaquered drumset, bass guitar, electric guitar amp, and bass guitar amp, and all my mics + studio gear. My biggest concern is how to maintain a consistent temperature in the room so the wood in the instruments & other delicate equipment parts DON'T become damaged by occassional hot or cold temperature changes...I'd like NOT to have to manually go back there every time to change from heat to cold settings and set temperatures manually. Do they make any wall units that just hold a user-specified temperature? I ask because the wall unit i have now is only an AC unit that needs to be operated manually.

Thanks frederic. Can you please elaborate on where I can read more about this "mini-split" system? Hopefully it's not too expensive :). The studio space is small --> 300-400 square feet, but has nice high ceilings and would be a great "jam room" where I can still record what we play. I don't mind doing a little carpenter work if something needs to be fabricated too...some help would be much appreciated  .
