Got a BIG sound. Sounds really cool. Nothing major sticks out to be to be problematic. Good job

Thanks for taking the time to bend an ear, guess I'm on the right track. BTW, your new song sound great!

Clogged: Only one nit. The click "hi-hat" sound in the left speaker needs a bit of variance. I know they're programmed drums, but a bit of velocity variance or a couple different hits that could be used here and there (or both) would really help. Otherwise, great work. Love the guitar work.

Invisible: Lot of work obviously went into this. Very nice song. The sound (not style) is very 80s prog.

Sounds pretty good, it sounds a little like a huge arena but the drummer is in a large room inside that arena. The bass is a little mooshy from the verb, I might take it off bass. Or just eq the verb so the lows don't ring so much. :thumbs up:

All guitars are amp sims aren't they? Not necessarily anything wrong with that, but in my opinion especially the solo guitar has a very cliche amp sim tone. Then again if you don't have an amp, what can you do? :)

Agree about the drums and mix being in two different spaces.

Other than that the mix sounds very nice. Good job!

Thanks BroKen_H,
Damn hard to make drums vsts sound human, I will redo the hats. I'll really appreciate the guitar compliment as drums are my
first instrument. I have no musical training and know a few chords by name and a couple of minor and major scales only. Self taught!
I have an Alesis E Kit and still trying to figure that out. 80's prog sound, you hit it on the nose! I love the 80's! Thanks again.

Man I have to admit I am a verb addict! I probably forgot to eq my verb buss. Thanks a bunch! This DAW stuff is beyond cool...beats the old TEAC 4 track. I know I'm over the top on effects but having fun.

Damn paw 1, all you guys have amazing ears. Using Guitar Rig Pro 5 and I also go over the top with all the stuff in it. My buddy just built me
A hand wired 15 watt tube amp and I hope to construct a really good iso cab as not to wake the dead! Can't wait. All my mixing is done with headphones. I need to start using my monitors. Thanks again!

I agree that things sound good. Way too much reverb for my tastes. But if you love it - then have at it.

Guitars sound good. Low end might be just a bit too strong - both on the kick and bass.

edit - I listened to Clogged.

Sounds like you're having a lot of fun recording, and that's just what it's supposed to be. If you're new to recording I'd say do whatever you like, experiment, and after some time you'll find out what works and doesn't work for you: That way you'll refine your mixing skills and find your own style.

15 W hand wired amp, cool man! When you mike an amp, you'll get a totally unique sound based on microphone(s), microphone placement, amp settings, tubes, speakers, and room characteristics. That way you'll create your own sound, not just reproduce a sound that's been used a thousand times before. However, miking an amp can be challenging, so don't get discouraged if you don't get the results you're after at the first try. What many beginners don't get is that the sound coming directly out of the speaker is very different from the sound you stereo capture with your ears in a reverberant room.

If you're willing to experiment, you'll learn a lot more than if you always try to follow the established rules.

Thanks TripleM for listening. I think I will try less reverb from now on.

Brain cramp. I meant "Do what you think sounds good." Oh well.

I listened to the first one (one song per post is my limit). Pretty good playing. It does sound rather simmy. Where are you going with this? Needs melody and lyrics if is going to be a real song.

Simmy? Do you mean the eq highs need to be cut? This was just a short jam using a preset in GR5. Never really considered a vocal, more of background music. In fact, I stopped using my volume pedal and have been trying to learn to use the volume knob on my guitar for roll on and off effect. I hope you can hear it in the lead. Thanks for your input!

i liked it! but. you're right. mix through monitors not headphones.
