Ok guys...
Ive been mixing a lot of pop, electronic and acoustic songs.
Now I had time to do a short song and mix it.
I am trying to mix a modern heavy rock sound similar to linkin park, breaking benjamin, skillet.

I dont have a budget for a good guitar amps, effects and cabs, heads, or combo.
So everything in here uses digital processor, samples and emulators.

Drums - Yamaha Motif XS Synthesizer, drum samples
Bass - Yamaha Motif XS Synthesizer
Heavy Distortion - Digidesign Eleven Rack
Electric Guitar - Digidesign Eleven Rack

Compressors, EQ, Harmonic Processing, Reverbs, etc... ---All Waves Plugins

Tell me what you think....

I find it hard to get nice thick sounds out of guitar emualtions, and there might be a bit of that here too. They feel a bit fizzy and undefined and I find myself confused between the highs in the symbols and the guitars. Also, I never thought I'd feel this way but the kick is pretty damn loud

Any way we could get a longer piece with some vocals as well?

The bass & drums sound like what they are.
The guitars are blunted by all that distortion.
Too short to offer anything else (me not the song sample).

I think a little more mid in the guitars would sound nice. Level also has to be brought up a little in my opinion.
Umm... hats over powering?
