I'm looking at this thing after running into some positive comments about it, particularly for female vocals. I'm not contemplating using it as a workhorse mic (the SP C3 comes to mind...:D) but to get a particularly warm vocal sound. Anyone care to share experiences with tube mics in the $300 range, and with this one in particular? Thanks.

That looks like another crappy chinese mic that has been rebranded but I could be wrong. Probably not worth the money. If you want a cheap toob mic than stick with a Studio Projects T3 or a MXL V77. The C1 is a pretty warm sounding mic even though it doesn't have toobs.

But...but...it has sonic integrity "approaching sainthood"!!!!!!!

Funny, I just skimmed through the Bible, and didn't find a SINGLE reference to "sonic integrity". There were some pretty cool stories about locusts, though. And wine...lots of wine...

But no "sonic integrity".

Must be in the King James version...

Yeah, well, I've gotten the wine thing down pretty well. I caught the "sainthood" quip on the site, too; it might have sent me packing except that one member here (I'll have to track him down) said it sounded pretty nice. So there it is. I know its approaching the something for nothing category, but what is it that makes a tube mic attractive, other than a "warm" sound? ("Aint that enough?" they said in unison)
