he last one on the planet
been making quite a bit of headway into getting this thing up and running again. Went through my books to identify the power supply used and found it is a voltage doubler. Replaced all the parts I stole out of it over the last thirty years, power cord, fuse holder, on and off switch, couldn't believe I got em in and wired up correctly. Then after looking at the schematics of voltage doublers, ( I don't have a schematic for the unit) I realized whoever was in there before me replaced the diodes and had one of them backwards. Took that out, turned it around and now I have voltage throughout. I have to take out a couple of frozen pots and replace them then plug her in and see if I can get a signal through.

oh wow, that things looks sweet! I use to have an old Tiesco guitar when I was a teenager, I should have held on to that thing. It played pretty darn smooth.

It looks cool, I have been carrying around for thirty years but I have never heard it.
hopefully soon. After trying to get someone to fix it without charging me out the ass I gave up and decided to tackle it myself.

Always nice to see a piece of gear getting ready to make a come back. Especially one that's older than I am.

It's alive. I did get a signal through it. I know I knew I shouldn't do it but I plugged the preamp into the preamp of my Trace Elliot tramp, that piece of shit I don't care about, and I got a signal through both channels and the tone controls were working. Both left and right outputs were working. The treble control on channel one did not seem to work. That is one I replaced. It had a very small cap on one lug soldered to the case and it broke when I tried to get it off to put on the new one. I grabbed a small cap and replaced it but it had neither cap had markings of any kind and I don't really know what I replaced it with. That may be the problem, will have to do some research or substitutions. Neither the reverb nor trem worked but that may be a footswitch issue. I know some amps will not work without the footswitch such as my Super Reverb. I have a jumper of some kind to keep the trem on.

most excellent.... i remember you asking about this thing before... very cool that its up and running without too much hassle after all...

It is stereo after all, I had my doubts. If the stereo switch is, on both channels go to separate outputs, either left or right, if in mono they go to both.:D

foot switches are typicly simple latching make or break types... so just insert a blank plug and alternately jumper it till you see which it needs...
