Tech21 amps finally coming to Canada! (and a question)

Up here in Canada, we haven't had any Tech21 amplifiers in a year or so. Something about Tech21 NYC getting CSA approval. Now, that approval has finally come through. We're expecting them here in Vancouver by the end of the month. I tried the Tech21 Tri-AC and it rocked, but it wasn't an amp. I'm anxiously awaiting the Trademark 60. What I REALLY REALLY want to hear is how good its output sounds through its XLR outputs, because noise limitations prevent me from micing a loud amp.

Right now, I'm plugging my SG into the input of my Hot Rod Deluxe and coming out the "preamp out" direct to my Delta 66 sound card. (I unplug the Hot Rod's internal speaker cable so the amp isn't blasting away at the same time.) But that's only for my clean sounds (and it does sound really nice!). For my overdriven/distorted sounds, I'm currently using my V-Amp 2 to my Mackie mixer then to the sound card. If I go guitar - V-Amp - Hot Rod, the pre-amp output sounds awful. I mean, really bad. As in ultra-ratty. In order to make the V-Amp sound good with the Hot Rod, I have to go in the "power amp in", which means I can't use the pre-amp out to send the signals through for recordng.

This leads me to a question, BTW. And it's a dumb one. Why can't I disconnect the internal speaker of the Hot Rod, plug a cable into it and send it off to my sound card? I'm sure that would blow something up, but I don't know why. Different impedences, or what?

Yes gordo, I'm pretty sure that would kill the input with the high watt output of the power amp. Plus, even with an impedance converter I don't think it would sound like you'd want. The speker and cab have alot to do with the sonic character of the amp.

The Tech 21 trademark 10 rocks hard for so small an amp. The XLR output sounds so good I gave away my POD. Seriously. I just plug a headphone adapter into the jack to defeat the speaker and jam away. The real bonus is micing the amp in combo with the direct out. The FX loop works killer when I route it through my MPX1. All around a great amp, I'd also like to pickup a trademark 60. So I say go for it!!

from what I understand, the Tri-AC is the guts of the Trademark amps. So the XLR probably sounds the same. I love my Tri-AC. I've ran it straight to the mixer and it kicks ass. I've also used it with my Roland JC120 and Marshall. This weekend I jammed with a friend and ran it into his cheapo stereo and it still kicked ass.

I've looked at the Trademark 10, 60, 120, and the 200 head. I liked the 60 the most, but the 120 had a better configuration.. 3 channels each with their own eq instead of a global eq.
