Teac A2340R sync modification?

Yes, I'm probably not the first to buy one of these and be disappointed that I can't overdub in sync.

I found mention on the web of someone who claims to have modded this deck to sync the playback and record heads.

Does anyone here have information/knowledge which would help me with this?

I've seen a few cheap (non-working) A3340's on ebay and so I'm also curious about the interchangeability of the head assembly between these decks.

So, any assistance is greatly appreciated!

Is there something special about the simul-sync record head, or is the whole system just adding switches between the play and record heads?
