Teac A-3440 - Date of Mfg?

Can anyone help date a Teac A-3440? Serial No. 12759 92.

Picked it up yesterday and I'm very happy with it. It lights up and works fine. I particularly like the intuitive control layout. It came with Owner's Manual, Information Supplement, Maintenance Kit, 2 extra hubs, and twelve 10.5" metal reels of very old tape.

The only thing it seems to need are rectangular "pads" for the hollow plastic feet. Any body know if they're Rubber or Felt?

If you can help me date this one I would be grateful.

I'll take a stab, 1980? Actually only an educated guess, I may be off. ;)

I had one a few years back, very nice machine. Came with original box, remote, reels, ect. I should have kept it...I beleive they were manufactured from 1978-1982.
 
I'm lucky that I still have a 3440 around. Nice machine I agree. :)
